PSYT

We put a price on happiness and helped PSYT exceed its Seedrs fundraising target.

Case study

The Challenge

Innovative tech firm PSYT specialises in delivering wellbeing improvement solutions to the masses. Its new app, me@mybest, provides a significantly more effective way to measure and improve wellbeing, and therefore productivity, in the workplace.

With current methods for workplace wellbeing improvement in desperate need of a revamp, me@mybest, presented a potentially groundbreaking solution. Unlaunched, PSYT came to us to support its £600k Seedrs funding round.

We needed to raise awareness of the me@mybest app to a high-profile business audience, attract investors and create a fertile environment for fundraising. The founders wanted coverage in London’s City AM and beyond.

With a £600k target to reach in December, a tough month for fundraising, and competition for media space from other businesses operating in the ‘wellbeing at work’ sector, we set out to create a creative, high-impact campaign that would stand out from the crowd.

The Result

We worked with PSYT’s research team to create a story that would help demonstrate the value of app and speak to potential investors and key decision makers that could also potentially become clients.

We calculated the value of happiness on a business’ bottom line and ultimately demonstrated that a 1% increase in happiness could boost the UK economy by £24bn, releasing the news the day PSYT’s Seedrs campaign launched.

The story broke with three pieces in City AM – a key publication for PSYT – a live TV interview on Sky News, plus national coverage on the BBC Online, Daily Express and tonnes of key specialist HR and business titles.

Rapid reaction to breaking news about stalling productivity levels in the UK helped to secure interviews on a special broadcast of the Today Programme edited by Prince Harry and BBC World News with a global reach of 1 million. Two further pieces about the business are set to run in City AM.

Our coverage helped PSYT reach its £600k target halfway into the campaign with more than £625k raised overall.

  • “We had worked with a large PR agency previously, however Munch came highly recommended as an agency that was understanding of startup life. This proved to be absolutely true. They were far more attentive and driven than the previous PR agencies and their results surpassed our expectations.

  • “The team kept us on track and on time with what we needed to deliver for the campaign to be a success. They quickly understood our business, helping us to distil our messaging into a way we could easily articulate, and came up with a strong creative idea to bring our app to life for journalists and potential backers. They’re creative, tenacious and hardworking. I highly recommend them.”
